April is a very significant month for Classical Music Lovers in India. Three of the all time greatest Musicians were born in this month within a span of three days ( in different years, of course) to ultimately enrich, spread and more importantly revolutionize the Art Form. These Three are Pandit Ravi Shankar ( 7th April, 1920), Pandit Kumar Gandharva ( 8th April, 1924) and Pandita Kishori Amonkar (10th April, 1932). Indian Music as a whole and Classical
Music in particular would be incomplete without the contributions of these giants. So keeping myself congruent to the occasion, I get started on my ‘Thoughts on Music’ today.

Though this introduction talks about Classical Musicians, this website would not be kept restricted only to Indian Classical Music. It will try to cover all genres of Music and the artists who enrich it!

Hoping to travel the seven seas, the five continents and innumerable human civilizations through one universal medium – the Seven Notes!

Singer Kishori Amonkar.
